God Fights Better Than Me!!

Romans 12:19

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Have you ever met a person that likes to fight? He/she finds him/herself in a middle of a fight all the time? I have never considered myself a fighter. I’ve always tried to love people and to live peaceably among men like God instructs. (Romans 12:18) But listen, lately, I’ve wanted to throat punch a few people and I’ve had to truly pray for deliverance.

The Bible says that anger rests in the laps of fools, I don’t want to be foolish so I try not to get angry without just cause (Ecclesiastes 7:9).

I have an incident in my life that is currently wreaking havoc on me - mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially. It has been the kind of situation that keeps you up at night and drives you absolutely crazy during the day. But here is the thing. God has told me to be still. Why? Because He fights better than me.

Vengeance is His. We only have to stand still. The Lord will fight for us. In Exodus 14, the children of Israel were leaving Egypt and pharaoh was pursuing them. They were afraid and upset with Moses for taking them to die in the wilderness. And Moses said to them, “Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord”. He went on the say later in the verse that the enemies you see today, you will see them no more. Did you shout right there!!!?!? #Glory!!!

He gave them three things to do... 1) Fear not. Don’t be afraid of the outcome. As long as you’re a child of God, you’re a winner. All things work for the good of those who love the Lord who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). 2) Stand still ... This is the part that I struggle with and the struggle is hard too. I want to be in control. So I need to write a letter, make a phone call, something! But Moses told them to just stand still to see how God would come through. 3) Lastly, he told them to see the salvation of the Lord. In other words, watch how God is going to deliver you. You don’t need to know the how or the why, you just need to watch. As the old folks say, and “show” it will happen.

There are some battles that only God can fight for you. Some situations that only God can see you through. All you need to do is take a deep breath, take your hands off of it and allow God to work. Hold your peace. God will give you the strength, courage, and wisdom to be quiet. And then watch and see how God will fight and you won’t have to do anything. It’s our job to trust Him. He’ll handle the rest. You don’t have to repay the ones who mishandled you, mistreated you, lied on you, or stole from you. You need only to pray and be still. God will handle the rest.

Take some time today to give God your battles and hang your boxing gloves up. I promise - pinky promise that He fights better than you! Live in the Red today, you are loved, forgiven, and covered in the blood
